Nettlestead Neighbours -

Nettlestead Neighbours – Covid 19 Volunteers

During December 2019 and into January 2020 Maidstone District had one of the highest incidences of COVID in the country, thankfully this is now falling but the risks are still very real. We are now learning to live with COVID and hope not to return to the times of national restrictions on travel and meeting up with our friends, colleagues and families.

The national restrictions meant that the clinically extremely vulnerable were asked to shield and to remain in their homes as much as possible.

The Parish Council supported a group of volunteers from the local community who ran errands such as collecting prescriptions and doing shopping for those in need, particularly for those people who were asked to self isolate.

Now that the main impact of Covid 19 has passed this group has stepped down its role.

The Parish Council would like to thank all of those who offered their time and helped to support those in need during this period.
